For 37 years the New York School of Urban Ministry has partnered with pastors, churches, and numerous ministries throughout NYC. The result is the training of over 150,000 urban leaders in “Hands on” compassion ministry. NTC has been able to benefit from this work and support it for over 20 years.
New York City is a place where over 800 languages are spoken and is the quintessential melting pot.
On this STORM trip you will participate in food truck and homeless ministry, as well as partnering with NYC churches in the work they are doing. Our groups learn about inner-city ministry through cross-cultural, “hands-on” urban ministry to the homeless, abused women, at risk children, Muslims, Jews and the NYC community in general. Outreaches take place via street meetings, soup kitchens, kids programs, city shelters and more. Stationed as a training & resource center, the 70,000 square foot training facility is located in the heart of Astoria, Queens where NYSUM provides accommodations and home-style meals for groups.
This short term missions trip will cost $350/person and will cover transportation from northern NY (transportation to Massena, NY not included) and around the city, lodging, meals at NYSUM and the support to help make this ministry possible. There are 8 spots available.
